Three cheers
for Coke Studio, MTV Unplugged and The Dewarists – for the kind of music that
they are producing. MTV Unplugged is mostly of solo performers singing their
songs with added pop/jazzy effect. Whereas Coke Studio and Dewarists
wonderfully make fusion of folk or classical songs with pop. Various songs
produced by Amit Trivedi, Clinton Cerejo, Nitin Sawhney, Shantanu Moitra are
awesome. Not to forget the Coke Studio by Pakistani singers like Zeb and
Haniya, Arif Lohar, Meesha Shafi, Ali Zafar etc.
More than listening to these songs what gives kick is seeing the entire orchestra performing with shear madness.. their passion and fun is quite
evident. I really missed having our rock band in college. I am wondering could
that wish be fulfilled here.. in Bhanupratappur with all our team’s participation?! I really
want to have a rock band at Bhanupratappur with vocals, guitar, drums to begin
with and as many Indian Classical Music instruments. I would love to work on
drums by the way.. Although we guys have interest in music, none of us know anything
about this.. None of us knew ABCD before we were admitted in Kinder
Garden! It seems that we all have quite grown-up since then so can give it a
try learning these instruments! What say? If agreed we will contribute for the
instruments and do riyaaz on Saturday
night and perform on Sunday!

for name of the rock band? Till the rock band gets launched, I will play the
drums in my dreams…!
